Course overview
Keep your skills ready between qualifications
The three-hour First Aid Annual Refresher is a short, practical course for existing workplace first aiders who want to keep their skills sharp between qualifications.
The HSE strongly recommends that first aiders complete annual refresher training during their three-year certification period. Skills such as CPR can fade quickly if they are not practised, and a short refresher helps first aiders stay confident and ready to act.
The course revisits the most important life-saving skills, including scene and primary surveys, CPR, using a defibrillator, the recovery position, fainting, seizures, choking, bleeding and shock. Your trainer assesses your skills against each FAIB learning outcome throughout the session.
Please note that the Annual Refresher does not renew or extend a First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work certificate. To renew a qualification, book First Aid at Work Requalification or Emergency First Aid at Work before your certificate expires.
